BIO

Before he was dropping pins on a map, Chaps was dropping into combat zones — he served in the Marine Corps in Iraq as a dog handler, earning the Purple Heart and other combat decorations along the way. After finishing school at UTSA, he signed with Barstool Sports in 2016 and built Zero Blog Thirty, a military podcast that held a top spot in the military podcast category for 8 years.

Today he’s the co-host of Drop A Pin, a weekly travel show alongside The Wonton Don that digs into a different corner of the world every episode — from the iconic to the truly obscure. Sometimes it’s serious, sometimes it’s just chaos and a good laugh, but the show consistently gets to the bottom of what makes a place worth talking about, whether that’s a Mongolian throat singer, a Yemen kidnapping story, or the case for Amsterdam being the world’s greatest city.

Now based in Chicago, Chaps has become the office’s unofficial geography “expert” (used very loosely), bringing curiosity, perspective, and storytelling into everyday conversation-both on-screen and within the growing Drop A Pin community.
