Gunnar Garfors, a published author himself, will be hosting this panel of travel authors (Boris Kester, Odette Ricasa, Donalito Bales, Jr). I think many of us in the travel community at one time or another have either been asked or pondered the question, should I write a book about my travel tales. The panel will be sharing the trials and tribulations of writing their books. They will overview the actual mechanics of writing a book, publishing, the costs, and the myriads of other things they learned during the process. And the authors will highlight some of their favorite stories from their books.
At 77 years old, Odette Ricasa became the first Filipino to travel to all the countries in the world as she arrived in her 193rd U.N. country in August 2022. She also finished visiting all 7 continents back in 2015.
Based in Los Angeles, Odette is an active member of the Philippine Global Explorers travel community, where she heads the U.S West Coast chapter.
She is a modern-day renaissance woman, a successful artist with over one hundred paintings, a motivational speaker, a prolific piano player, and an author of six travel books.
Her published works that all have travel themes are: “Unguarded Thoughts” (2002), “Excerpts from Life” (2003), “Pieces of Dreams” (2004), “Running with Echoes of Desire” (2010), “Touching the Wind” (2015), and “Love Echoes…Inspire” (2020).
